Caption
May 3, 2016 The small village of Kulmhof in the Warthegau had barely 300 inhabitants, but a German SS special command murdered more than 150,000 people here between December 8, 1941 and July 14, 1944 in several trucks that had been converted into gas chambers. The Jews deported here from all over the Warthegau entered a former mansion, had to undress in front of what was supposed to be a bathroom, before being driven down a long corridor in the basement, at the end of which one of the three gas vans with open doors was upstairs on a ramp in which the victims were crammed and in which they were killed with engine exhaust in the yard.
